Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that government machinery is fully active to deal with the coronavirus pandemic and added that a multilayered strategy has been evolved to deal with locust attack and coronavirus pandemic in Punjab.
He was talking to MNA Amir Dogar and a group of elected representatives who called on him in Multan and extended Eid greeting to him. They also discussed progress on the Multan development package and the anti-coronavirus drive being run in the province.
The CM said the people should wholly follow necessary precautions to remain safe from coronavirus, he added. Usman Buzdar maintained the opposition leaders have, even, tried to divide the nation over coronavirus pandemic. In the prevailing circumstances, the opposition is playing the role of a political ‘locust’ and the nation is disappointed with its negative attitude.
It is regrettable that opposition even tried to politicize the coronavirus issue because it has no anti-coronavirus plan, he asserted and further said that it is engrossed in making tall claims. On the other side, the citizens have appreciated the timely steps taken by the government. The government is aptly dealing with different challenges and every challenge will be overcome with the cooperation of the people, the CM concluded.
He said time has proved that government took timely decision under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Farsighted initiatives of government helped a lot to deal with this situation. He said that government has to stop the spread of coronavirus as well as safeguard the people from the poverty and hunger. Those who are doing the criticism for the sake of criticism are totally unaware about the ground realities. Opposition leaders, despite Corona Pandemic, made a vicious attempt to destroy national solidarity.
The opposition harmed the national interests for the personal gain. Opposition’s attempt to divide the nation in this time of trail is highly condemnable. Usman Buzdar said that the opposition leaders have made a new record of lip serving on corona pandemic and their practical performance remained zero. Government has adopt a comprehensive and effective strategy to deal with coronavirus.
Prime Minister Imran Khan without wasting time took decisions with consultation. Opposition just created hue and cry and did nothing for the people. He said that the leadership of PTI understands the suffering and pain of poor people. Opposition should know that this important time is not for point scoring but time to remain unite.
CM Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the murder of former MPA Sardar Atif Mazari. He has extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the heirs to bear the loss with equanimity.
